Grateful Gathering
At Greensboro Montessori School, we practice gratitude every day, but on this day, for the second year in a row, we celebrated it. Working as a team, our entire school community brought to life the classic tale of Stone Soup. Every student, whether a toddler or teenager, had a hand in preparing our schoolwide feast. Toddlers scrubbed carrots. Preschool and kindergarten students scrubbed sweet potatoes and peeled garlic. First, second, and third graders harvested carrots and turnips, and fourth, fifth, and sixth graders baked bread. Seventh, eighth, and ninth graders folded all this bounty into a single meal of Stone Soup, cornbread, and fresh fruit.
